The saxophonist’s art is based on turning something skittish into something sublime, and the further he refines that process, the more he illustrates the appeal of perpetual experimentation. On last year’s Nine Levels, the interplay was off the hook. Horns darting, voices swooping, traps waxing ultra kinetic. His GO5 performances usually carry the same kind of intrigue.
