“For never was a story of more woe/Than this of Juliet and her Romeo.” Usually. Though the star-crossed lovers have been taking their lives for more than 400 years now, in this version of Romeo and Juliet by Nature Theatre of Oklahoma, they have a hard time getting their stories straight—and the result is anything but tragic. For the latest show, they’ve phoned several friends and forced them to recount all that they recall of Shakespeare’s weepie. Three actors—Anne Gridley, Robert M. Johanson, and Elisabeth Conner—perform these misremembered reports. Directors Pavol Liska and Kelly Copper continue the company’s obsession with narrative, verbatim speech, and theatrical gamesmanship. Expect love, death, and call waiting.

Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Tue., Dec. 22, 8 p.m. Starts: Dec. 17. Continues through Jan. 16, 2009
