Actress Brittany Murphy, 32, was pronounced dead at 10:04 this morning at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. TMZ is reporting that Murphy’s mother found her unconscious in the shower in her husband’s home and called 911. Paramedics determined she was in cardiac arrest and performed CPR, but she never regained consciousness. Both the LAPD and the Los Angeles Coroner have reportedly opened investigations into her death.
Murphy was best known for roles in movies like Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, Sin City and 8 Mile. She also worked as a voice-over actress in the movie Happy Feet and the tv series King of the Hill. According to IMDB, she completed three unreleased films before her death.
Online celebrity follower Perez Hilton posted earlier this month that Murphy had been let go from a film she was making in Puerto Rico due to erratic behavior. Murphy denied the reports.
