Beachniks

Featuring members of post-punkers Crystal Stilts and punk-punkers German Measles, Beachniks are a comically sunny proposition, writing songs about Coney Island (“Coney Island”) or Brighton Beach (“Brighton Beach”). They seem to embrace the fuzzy, beachbound, kiwi-esque fuzz-goop of feted locals Real Estate without the bummer of suburbia holding them back. Tonight is their 7″ release party for their upcoming record on Captured Tracks.
