Dir. Blake Edwards (1951).
Romantically awash in New York atmosphere, Edwards’s celebrated film is heavily dependent on the charm of Audrey Hepburn who lays on the winsomeness a bit thick. Most of the trappings, especially the party scenes, now appear dated, while Mickey Rooney is a total embarrassment in the stereotypical role of Audrey’s Japanese neighbor.
