Joshua Bell

by

This is likely the second cheapest concert that classical violinist Joshua Bell has played in the last five years (the absolute cheapest being the time Bell posed as a street performer in the Washington D.C. subway. . . for free.) Not that it won’t come with a price: Today’s performance of music by French Romantic-20th Century composer Gabriel Fauré is geared toward young’uns, so expect everything that comes part and parcel with family performances. At the same time, the family setting will put a refreshing spin on classical music, sidestepping all the senseless cursing, misogyny, and braggadocio that holds it back on the charts.
