When we cornered Zak Pelaccio at the Saveur holiday party, he told us that his long-awaited barbecue restaurant, Fatty ‘Cue, would open by March. But you don’t have to wait that long to get a taste, because the Fatty Crab restaurants will be previewing Fatty ‘Cue dishes and cocktails on New Year’s Eve. What’s on the menu?
Choose among three dishes: pulled brisket, clams and bacon, or smoked crab soup, all for $19 each. Cocktails will include the ‘Cue, which involves over-proof Demerara rum, and smoked pineapple syrup, pineapple juice, and “some other business,” says bar manager Adam Schuman. There will also be an candy-almond-kaffir lime rye, served neat, a “desserty, full-flavored” number.
Reservations are being taken at both locations for 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. seatings.
