Miracle on the Jersey Turnpike! Plane Emergency-Lands on Highway

A pilot providing eye-in-the-sky footage for Philadelphia radio and TV was forced to make an emergency landing on the Jersey Turnpike this morning. Mike Lanford, who flies for Metro Networks and whose coverage feeds KYW-AM and KYW-TV, found his oil pressure low and brought his Cessna single-engine plane down on a northbound lane two miles south of Exit 4 in Cherry Hill a little before 7 a.m. No injuries reported but, NBC Philadelphia reports, “there were major traffic backups throughout the morning rush.” The plane has since been towed away.
