Husnu Senlendirici, 33, is arguably the best of Turkey’s younger generation of clarinetists, of which Turkey boasts many utterly awesome specimens. He specializes in the folk music of the Aegean region in which he was raised, but went on to become a master of Balkan, Romany, and progressive jazz and folk styles as well. This show marks the beginning of a short tour with New York’s Gypsy All-Stars, which is led by another fine (half-Turkish) clarinetist, Ismail Lumanovski. Expect moody fireworks à la Turque.
