The BAM Sounds Like Brooklyn Festival has a slightly misleading moniker, in that it will not mimic the jittery purr of the Cyclone, the clatter of dented Sparks cans on asphalt, or the ribald cursing in the G train. But it is the best foot forward of the entire borough and all the music genres it nurtures; 13 venues (including BAM, Blue Monday, and Union Hall) will serve up more than 100 rabble-rousers in their town and in their element. Notables include electropunks Aa, iPoppers Chairlift, post-boppers Scott Tixler Quartet, and cheeky noisists Japanther, and there’s more where that came from; here’s the new center of the Western music world, condensed just for you.
