There’s only one lyric you need to know for Tuesday night: “So like a pimp I’m pimpin’/I got a boat to eat shrimp in.” Yes, “Shake Your Rump,” among other Paul’s Boutique Beastie Boys classics, will be performed by esteemed essayists and rap aficionados Das Racist at Cameo. Continuing this theme of relentless pimpin’ is the NY Guitar Fest at Le Poisson Rouge, featuring Skeleton$ and Marc Ribot’s Ceramic Dog. The latter band is a frantic, multi-genre-pushing collaboration between Marc Ribot (of Tom Waits and Elvis Costello fame) and the drummer for Xiu Xiu. Skelton$, however, pairs clicking and clanging drums, sedated vocals, and the occasional brass instrument to produce lulling factory sounds worthy of that dollar sign. Finally, if you have the sudden urge to catch up on every season of Lost through the majesty of song and dance, attend the Bell House’s Lost Season-Six Premiere Party with semi-official recap band Previously on Lost.
