Joey Campanaro Will be the Chef at Kenmare


Having already conquered the West Village at Little Owl and Market Table, Joey Campanaro is heading east to Kenmare, the new restaurant slated to open in the old Civetta space.

Diner’s Journal reports that Campanaro is planning a Mediterranean menu for the restaurant, which is owned by a trio of nightlife types including the Beatrice Inn’s Paul Sevigny. Campanaro’s cooking will have to compete with the restaurant’s decor, which an article in Vogue described as “plastered walls, sage banquettes, and bursts of orange inspired by the Almafi Coast of the seventies,” as well as the the appetites (or lack thereof) of its patrons, which, if they’re anything like the ones clustered around the Beatrice’s bouncer, will hail largely from the fashion demimonde.
