Dir. Paul Verhoeven (1992).
What most people remember about this audacious in-your-face sex thriller is the scene that went down in movie history as the Flash–when bisexual seductress Sharon Stone makes it clear that her femme fatale character doesn’t wear a thing underneath her figure-hugging white dress. (With this one scene Stone was temporarily catapulted into the major league of Hollywood divas.) Michael Douglas (great job) co-stars as a San Francisco detective fatally attracted to a suspect in a kinky murder case. The story is full of Hitchcockian twists. The flick was a huge hit with the public at large, although not with gay activists.
