Owing to wintry scenes such as the one at right, recorded in north Brooklyn, public schools are closed tomorrow.
Meteorologists predict a storm, and the Daily News says “officials are worried that buses could get stuck as the city is blanketed by the second snow storm in a week.” (To the left, an image of the damage last weekend’s storm did to the same neighborhood.)
Some observers wonder why the city fathers couldn’t wait until there was actual snow to cancel school, but that is pre-9/11 thinking. If the snow isn’t bad enough to keep kids out in the morning, authorities reason, it might possibly be bad enough to make the commute home difficult.
Come to think of it, the snow might be really bad, so why not cancel Thursday, too?
