Dir. Robert Aldrich (1962).
This bitchy grand guignol battle played out in a decaying Hollywood mansion between warring sister divas Bette Davis and Joan Crawford gets off to a draggy start but builds with ever-growing force to a strong climax. Davis plays it for all it’s worth in a grotesque florid performance; Crawford gives a quiet, remarkably fine interpretation of her crippled sister.
