Brooklyn’s Thistle Hill Tavern (362 15th Street) is edging closer to a projected March opening, and today owner David Massoni, also of ‘inoteca, revealed that Rebecca Weitzman will be the chef/partner at the new restaurant.
Weitzman has spent the last two and a half years as the chef de cuisine at ‘Inoteca on the Lower East Side. Before that, she worked under Bobby Flay at Bar Americain, Bolo, and Mesa Grill. The chef got her start in Colorado, where her cooking at Cafe Star was much loved.
Massoni said that Weitzman’s cooking at Thistle Hill Tavern will be New American with Mediterranean and European flavors. “Anyone who’s been to ‘Inoteca LES in the last 2-plus years and had any of the additions to the menu would also have a good sense of her cooking style,” Massoni added.
