Tonight! The Subjects, Arms, Frances, Midnight Masses, Uninhabitable Mansions, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, and Lee Ranaldo + Friends

Inadvertently revealing the upside to castration, the Subjects describe their guitar frolics as sounding “like Nickelback, but less ballsy.” To compensate for this lack of machismo, Arms, Uninhabitable Mansions, and Frances will join the band at the Bell House to benefit the Jiamini Scholarship Fund. If even-tempered folk doesn’t grab you, the original lineup of …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead (alongside openers Midnight Masses) will rattle off swishes of chugging distortion into Union Pool. Over at Issue Project Room, the assault continues as Loren Conners, Alan Licht, and Lee Ranaldo “drag hapless guitars kicking and screaming into otherworldly places” during a night of what the honorable Christopher R. Weingarten further describes as “six-string abuse.” When somebody from Sonic Youth is involved, we expect no less.
