The Cove, Logorama Offer Food for Thought, Take Home Statues for It


The corn industry might be appeased that Food, Inc. didn’t win Best Documentary at last night’s Academy Awards, although perhaps the city of Taiji, Japan will have something to say about The Cove taking home the Oscar. Another slightly food-related film, Logorama, won the award for Best Animated Short Film. Featuring an action plot starring your favorite logos and mascots — Ronald McDonald, the Pringles man, Big Boy — and set in a version of Los Angeles made up entirely of brand names, the film is a comment on how saturated with advertising our society has become.
