The Allman Brothers’ extended jam session known as the “Beacon Run” ended last year after two decades—barely enough time for Warren Haynes to finish his guitar solo on “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More.” Forced farther uptown to make room for Cirque du Soleil’s wacky acrobatics, the move has attracted enough attention that the Allmans have the stage prepared to handle as big of a spectacle as they can prepare. Last year, the likes of Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, and, uh, Kid Rock joined them onstage. It’s safe to assume that this year. none of their guests will be French.
