The New York City Condom Wrapper contest is over. We reviewed the finalists last month and gave the manhole-cover design our highest grade, but the Department of Health has given the commission to this power-button thing. The multi-entendre button by Luis Acosta of Kew Gardens got the most votes in the department’s open online voting. “Anodyne statement about pride,” mouthed Acosta, “and about sexual health.” He also explained that his design is meant to remind users “that they’re in control.”
