As many of you know, our weekly dining and drinking newsletter features all the coolest epicurean events in the city.
Streets International Third Annual Street Food Celebration Benefit
Seamus Mullen of Boqueria, Tom Colicchio of Colicchio and Sons, and Floyd Cardoz of Tabla are just a few of the chefs participating in this fundraising event, which benefits underprivileged children in Southeast Asia by providing them with the opportunity to train for and get employed in the culinary world. Tickets start at $150, which gets you access to an open bar with specialty cocktails, Vietnamese cooking demonstrations, and a silent auction with Long Island weekend wine tours and cooking classes among items to bid on.
Spanish Wines of Galicia & Cheese
The folks at Murray’s are teaming up with the Spanish wine experts at Tinto Fino for a chance to travel to Spain without ever leaving the city. Sip crisp and aromatic Albarino wines alongside pretty, floral Godello. On the red side, there will be light and fragrant Mencia, and deep red Garnacha Tintotera. The cheese will hail from around the globe.
Mexican Passover Cooking Demonstration
Spice up your Passover seder with a little south-of-the-border flair. The eighth annual Mexican Passover week at Rosa Mexicano takes place March 25 through April 5. But you can learn to make some of the Latin-flavored holiday favorites yourself at this cooking demonstration hosted by chefs Joe Quintana and David Suarez. The menu will feature Tropical Haroset, Banana Leaf Wrapped Beef Brisket with dried fruit tzimmes, and Red Snapper Gefilte Fish with spicy tomato salsa and pickled vegetables.
