We got to hand it to 3rd Ward—they’re one of the few organizations we can think of that creates eco-friendly events for us to attend, and they provide the food, drinks, and music. What’s not to love about that? For instance, every last Monday of the month, they host a Sweatshop Social, where you learn how to make fun, fashionable creations. Tonight is their bag-building workshop: Bring fabric—preferably from your unwanted clothing—and get busy on their sewing machines to make a cute bag that’s good for stylishly carrying home groceries or toting your books. The best part is, you don’t have to be a sewing pro—they’ll provide instructions and help. Just bring your merry self and create works of art alongside other like-minded crafty types.
