Oh No Ono+Cate Le Bon

Brooklyn’s own Friendly Fire Recordings did us a solid by bringing Oh No Ono’s Eggs to America. The Danish group’s debut is full of collapsed chandeliers wrapped up in sterile gauze, the hard angles of post-punk made warm and weird with gooey surface treatments and intriguingly creepy falsetto vocals that won’t get out of your head. Their particular freaky-deaky matches up well with Cate Le Bon, a young Welshwoman whose deceptively fragile vocals and overturned music box songs twinkle darkly like flowers in the attic.
