Never pass up the opportunity to see a self-proclaimed group of Danish “Internet Warriors” who have specifically branded themselves as human-headed “Lion Fish.” That’d be Oh No Ono (to your left), performing their springy, game-show post-punk at Mercury Lounge tonight. Meanwhile, at Bowery Ballroom the Black Lips are set to play their second show of the week. And over at the Fillmore, Julian Casablancas will indulge his solo act once again before settling down with the Strokes (which he seems…thrilled about). In other side-project news, the National’s Bryce Dessner will be celebrating the latest release from his secondary outfit, Clogs, at the Bell House. His mournful approach is pointedly summed up by the band’s tune “I’m Very Sad,” though a guest appearance by Sufjan Stevens should lighten the mood with his perpetual Christmas cheer.
