Some Restaurant Owners Actually OK With the Idea of Letter Grades

by

Although the Board of Health’s vote to require restaurants to post health inspection grades has its critics, an article in QSR magazine finds that some restaurant owners actually think it’s a good idea: Katz’s Alan Dell called it a “super important” step in building consumer confidence, while one of the heads of Hale and Hearty Soups said “as much as I hate to admit it, I can’t say it’s a bad thing.” The customers at Hale and Hearty’s Grand Central location might agree: it scored 29 points during a February inspection, making it less than a star pupil.
