Last Month, Sean Basinski, founder of the Vendy Awards, told Fork in the Road about his hope to take the Vendys cross-country with the help of funds from Pepsi’s Refresh Project. Unfortunately, the Vendys didn’t win the $25,000 prize, but he decided to take the show on the road anyway. Midtown Lunch reports that the Street Vendor Project, which runs the Vendys, will take the “Oscars of Street Food” to Los Angeles for the first time this May. Tickets are on sale now for $50, and all proceeds go toward organizations in L.A. that, like the Street Vendor Project, support street vendor rights. You’re welcome, Los Angeles.
