Following a two-day preview last fall, the Manhattan Cocktail Classic gets ready to hit the Astor Center May 14-18 as tickets go on
sale tomorrow special pre-sale at 8 p.m. EST tonight. Per Diner’s Journal, the event will feature seminars on Curaçao cocktails, monk-made liqueurs like Chartreuse and Benedictine, and newly hip moonshine, in addition to talks on sherry, gin, tequila and mezcal, and every cocktailian’s favorite topic: punch.
Off-site tutorials and tastings will be led by Death & Co.‘s Alex Day, Momofuku‘s Don Lee, and Contemporary Cocktails’ Willy Shine (the latter is expected to take place at the forthcoming Painkiller). There will also be a sunset cocktail cruise, a cocktail photography class, and a steak-and-martini pairing dinner.
In an email, founder Lesley Townsend says: “Oh – and we should also mention: this isn’t even the full calendar of events. Not even close. We’ll be adding more events as the weeks go on, so if you’re holding out for a lazy afternoon sipping absinthe under the sun (just, you know, for example), we might have something in store for you in a few weeks’ time.”
