From Mixologist to Cocktologist


Just when it seemed like bartenders couldn’t possibly come up with another name for themselves, Rye House’s Lynnette Marrero has managed to find the best one yet: while accepting the Best New Bar-Restaurant Hybrid award she shared with Jim Kearns at last night’s Time Out Eat Out Awards last night, Marrero referred to herself and Kearns as “cocktologists.” While mixing drinks isn’t necessarily the first thing that such a term brings to mind, cheers to Marrero for having the balls to further expand the liquid lexicon.
