Last December, Jim Mamary disclosed his expansion plans Pomme de Terre, his two-year-old restaurant in Ditmas Park. Mamary mentioned he was thinking of “tweaking the concept” of the French bistro, and now it looks like he may be on his way to doing so. Ditmas Park Blog reports that Pomme de Terre closed “rather abruptly” two days ago, and will possibly re-open as a tapas place in three months. The restaurant’s website and answering machine are still up and running; we’ve left a message and will provide further updates should they become available.
In the meantime, commenters on DPB seem generally dismayed at the news, which has driven one to ask, rather poignantly, “Why can’t we just have everything Park Slope has?”
