Tactical Nuclear Penguin: One of World’s Strongest Beers Comes to America

Brew Dog, the Scottish beer company that makes Sink the Bismark!, the highest alcohol beer in the world, is sending their second-strongest brew to New York City. It’s called Tactical Nuclear Penguin, and it comes in at 32% alcohol-by-volume, almost as much as much as most spirits, which generally come in at 40%.

Tactical Nuclear Penguin, a supercharged imperial stout, was the strongest beer in the world until German brewer Schorschbrau released one that reached 40% ABV. In response, Brew Dog came up with Sink the Bismark! a beer with an unsubtle name that clocks in at 41%. Sink the Bismark! is currently sold out.

Each bottle of Tactical Nuclear Penguin comes equipped with a warning:

This is an extremely strong beer, it should be enjoyed in small servings and with an air of aristocratic nonchalance. In exactly the same manner that you would enjoy a fine whisky, a Frank Zappa album or a visit from a friendly yet anxious ghost.

Unfortunately, each bottle also comes with a $53 price tag. Apparently, that’s because of the painstaking process by which the beer is made, which, according to this video, involves penguin sex, dogs dressed as penguins, and frozen beer.
