If you thought the lunch ladies on Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution were a tough bunch, then you obviously haven’t visited the cafeteria of Atlantic City High School. The Press of Atlantic City reports that after students held a cell phone-coordinated food fight, cafeteria workers retaliated by serving them nothing but plain cheese sandwiches for two days earlier this week. Although some parents took umbrage to the measure, it doesn’t seem that bad — students aren’t obligated to eat the lunch served in the cafeteria, and it’s not as if they had their chicken pucks and strawberry milk replaced with identifiable animal parts and fresh produce. As the students of Huntington, W.Va.’s elementary school system could tell them, it could have been a lot worse.
