Andrew WK swears it wasn’t his fault. All he did was sweat a few dollops of blood onto a Steinway, and all of a sudden Eyjafjallajökull punches through its protective glacier, causing worldwide havoc. Imagine what would’ve happened if he’d vomited on a Hiwatt. Titled “For the Moustache That You Love,” this benefit for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society features the man himself on solo piano, Roadside Graves, the quiet tones of Dirty Projectors vocalist Angel Deradoorian, and Brooklyn’s Mon Khmer. And hey, if you’re a foreigner still stuck in New York City, WK says you can crash on his couch until the debris cloud dissipates.
