Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy once proclaimed, if you can believe Henry Rollins, “Ratt shit is better than cat shit!” That’s not saying much. Nonetheless, a sort-of classic lineup of Ratt—a band that ranks among L.A.’s sleaziest sleaze rockers—recently released their first record in 11 years, suitably titled Infestation. It doesn’t boast a “Round and Round,” “Lay It Down,” or even a “Way Cool, Jr.” (save a re-recording of the latter on the iTunes version) but it certainly, absolutely, most definitely does not contain anything resembling cat shit.
