Tim Gunn Added to Ludicrous Smurf Movie Roster

by

As Tim Gunn would say, “This worries me.” However, because we love nothing more than to keep you updated with regard to this godforsaken, East Village-invading Smurf movie, you ought to know that adorable Project Runway mentor Tim Gunn has been added to the cast.

It’s possible we’re a touch bitter because an in-production exploding water-truck stunt scene prevented us from getting cupcakes at Butter Lane last week. But all of the Smurfy goings-on in our hood have piqued our interest, and the casting announcements just keep getting more absurd. Gunn joins a roster of Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria, and the voices of Katy Perry, George Lopez, Alan Cumming, and Fred Armisen. The author/Liz Claiborne creative director/Tide spokesman will be playing a cosmetic company exec, which will in some way fit into the ripped-from-Enchanted story of a gaggle of CGI Smurfs falling into the real world via Central Park — and needing makeovers?

Gunn, who has had cameos on Ugly Betty and Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva, will also appear in the upcoming Sex and the City 2. We’re not gonna say it… okay, yes we are: “Make it work!”
