Bel Air+Mama Bear+Holy Moly

Another Bushwick loft space with a vaguely prophetic name hosts a showcase of three bands tonight with an acoustic catalogue that ranges from alt-country to sugary twee to psychobilly. Hailing from Brooklyn, Bel Air injects a Whiskytown flavor into their laid-back Americana, placing tracks such as “Riverside Dr.” in the saloon. Local five-piece Mama Bear aim for cheery folk instead, with a sound described in their MySpace bio as “cherry pie baking.” Finishing the night off right, Texan cow punks Holy Moly will display raucous wit with songs titled “Hillbillies Can’t Drive On Meth.” (That’s totally true, by the way.)
