Joydeep Ghosh

Best known for his sarod playing, this appropriately-monikered Hindustani maestro will perform here on the rarely heard surshingrar, a gourded, futuristic-looking hybrid of three other stringed Indian instruments: the sitar, metal-plated rabab, and short-necked veena. Ghosh delves into his ragas and compositions on this infamously difficult instrument with patience, depth, and heady intensity. Subhen Chatterjee will accompany the award-winning virtuoso on tabla.
