Now in their 14th season, the Liberty is going strong despite a disappointing 13-21 record in 2009. A key move in their recent roster revamp was acquiring six-time All-Star center Taj McWilliams-Franklin. Another big addition is WNBA All-Star Nicole Powell, who finished her sixth season first in free throws and in the top 10 for scoring and top 20 for three-point scores. The Liberty has signed four veterans and two college recruits and assigned them to training camp, so there is a lot of optimism and new blood for 2010. On opening day, the Libs host the Chicago Sky, who went through their own overhaul last year—changing their slogan and their home arena and improving to 16-18. Bonus: The first 5,000 fans get a Liberty hat!
