As many of you know, our weekly dining and drinking newsletter features all the coolest epicurean events in the city.
Tuesdays, 5-10:30 p.m.
This newish Mediterranean-inspired wine bar by George Zoitas of Westside Market is now hosting a weekly three-course prix-fixe for $37 or $50 with wine pairing. The porcine feast includes dishes like crispy pork belly with creamy polenta and fried egg, and suckling pig headcheese with pickled ramps. And, yes, there will be bacon in the dessert.
Woodford Reserve Dinner
David Burke at Bloomingdale’s
May 18, 6:30 p.m.
As part of the restaurant’ beverage dinner series, this bourbon dinner will feature four courses, each paired with a premium small-batch whiskey for $45 per person. Sample crabmeat hushpuppies and pastrami salmon, Kentucky quail or beef three ways, and coal miner’s bread pudding for dessert.
Wines from South America
May 22, 4:30 p.m.
Why go to Le Bernardin just for dinner when you can spend the whole afternoon there sipping and learning about wines? Sommelier Aldo Sohm, the recipient of several awards, including Best Sommelier in the World, will host a seminar on the terroir and vinification of South American wines, followed by a multi-course pairing dinner.
