Hang in there. If you can make it to 50, you’ll finally actually be able to relax and be happy. According to research published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences:
After 50, daily stress and worry take a dive and daily happiness increases, according to an analysis of more than 340,000 adults questioned about the emotions they experienced “yesterday.”
Young adults, it seems, experience more “negative emotions,” like stress and anger, but old people have finally relieved themselves of the emotional drama that plagued them in their 20s and 30s. Apparently, once you’re old you stop making all of those obscenely bad decisions you used to make. Or perhaps you’re so old that you forget about them as soon as you make them. That sounds nice.
