Their loopy New Wave sound that seemed so fun on their debut disappeared a bit over the last few albums. Maybe it was because that these likable Brits didn’t storm the U.S. and also got dropped by their label. Their new album seems a little too ambitious for its own good in places, but their manic rhythms still sound winning when they reference their roots. Surely some of their giddy early stuff will get slipped into this set—we could use it and, truth be known, so could they. With Hooray For Earth.
