Broken Bells

Whose rep comes out stronger in this supergroup duo, gadfly producer Danger Mouse or Shins frontman James Mercer? They both get some boost from this project, especially as the sheen has worn off of Gnarls Barkley and the Shins, and Bells has a hit record under their belt now. Will their appealingly sad r&b pop still make waves on the second album they’re currently working on? We’ll see. In the meantime, enjoy their big band live act, cloaked in a shadowy light show.
