Serious Eats Crowns City’s Best Falafel

As far as chickpea news goes, it’s not quite as dramatic as the ongoing hummus feud between Isreal and Lebanon, but Serious Eats is featuring a comprehensive look at falafel sandwiches in New York, crowning Taïm as the best in the metropolis. Take a gander at all the runners-up via an SE slideshow.

East Village affordable standby Mamoun’s, which handily won a Battle of the Dishes against newcomer Cheep’s, didn’t even make it past the first round of tasting.

More good news for Taïm lovers: The shop will soon launch a falafel truck, the better to spread the good stuff around.

And what about you, good eaters? Do you agree that Taïm makes New York’s superior falafel sandwich?
