Bloomington, Indiana artist David Stith headlines this evening of mild-mannered folk mutants. Stith is a visual artist whose 2009 debut for Sufjan Stevens’ Asthmatic Kitty label, Heavy Ghost, is a rough yet richly orchestrated collection of discretely inventive baroque folk sketches. Art-folk fellow traveler Sebastian Krueger leads Brooklyn’s Inlets, who explore delicate (when not downright precious) emotional nuances with the precision of a passive-aggressive surgeon. Norwegian solo multi-instrumentalist Silje Nes deploys loops and keyboards and a delicate voice to create pastiches of a shimmering world in constant flux.
