Albert Trummer, co-owner and head mixologist at the Chinatown bar Apotheke, is known to occasionally throw booze on the bar and light it on fire. That nifty little party trick got the Austrian-born drinks slinger arrested by the Fire Department this past weekend.
Per the Times, the FDNY got wind of the fire show via an anonymous tip, which many have been phoned in following an episode of The Real Housewives of New York City filmed, in part, at the bar. Undercover fire marshals made the arrest, charging Trummer with reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance. Apotheke closed after he was taken away, but reopened promptly the next night.
