Jimmy Dean, Country Music Star-Turned-Sausage Magnate, Dies at 81

Jimmy Dean, known as much for his country music career as his eponymous sausage brand, died on Sunday at his Virgina home, at the age of 81.

Dean sold his meat company to Sara Lee, but his name has remained on the package and people continue to associate the product with the man, including the disgruntled customer who last year complained about the reduced size of his roll sausage. The 16-ounce size has since been reinstated. R.I.P., Mr. Dean.
