Marc Jacobs’s muse (no, not Sponge Bob—the other one) is also a delicate, darkly romantic singer-songwriter. Model Karen Elson, frequent cat-walker for Jacobs, Chanel, and Versace, expanded her Citizens Band cabaret chops on this spring’s solo debut, The Ghost Who Walks. The album is something akin to an Anthropologie catalog on wax: Its tinkling airiness has a retro, country charm with just enough shiny flourishes to seem expensive. And that’s a good thing; her producer/husband, Jack White, demands it. With some other artists you may have heard of, Band of Horses and Grizzly Bear.
