Andrew Carmellini has officially confirmed earlier rumors that he’s taking over the old Cub Room space and turning it into his second restaurant. Grub Street reports that the chef and his operating partners at Locanda Verde signed the lease to 131 Sullivan Street last November. The Soho restaurant won’t be Italian, will be designed by the same team responsible for the look of the Breslin, and is scheduled to open in mid-September, presumably to deafening fanfare.
