Raunch and Revelations at Broadway Bares

Last night’s 20th anniversary edition of Broadway Bares, benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, was a splashy gala at Roseland, which I’ll tell you about in the column.

But let me fill you in on a couple of fun celebrity moments from the revue, which I noticed in between gagging on, I mean at, all the dancing bare flesh on display.

At one point, Lucy Liu emerged to collect cash from the crowd, but not before saying, “Let me make one thing clear. I have never hosted The View!”

Later in the evening, Jackie Hoffman appeared as a policewoman charging Katie Finneran with stealing Promises, Promises — “not to mention Patti LuPone is still mad about Noises Off.”

Finneran said to Hoffman: “But I didn’t have any scenes with Patti LuPone.”

Replied Hoffman, “Yeah, but she’s always mad.”

Katie proceeded to pull out her Tony, which Jackie held and moaned, “So this is what they feel like!”

Katie then pulled out her other Tony, held them both up as earrings, and wondered, “Too much?”

Too much!
