Once again, a group of “marauding youths” is terrorizing the older people of Manhattan (remember when a bunch of kids were attacking Asian women on the Lower East Side?). Not cool. This time, the crime is armed robbery in Central Park. On Saturday, June 19, a 68-year-old man was walking near East 96th Street and East Drive at 7:50 p.m. when he was approached by the four suspects.
One of them had a gun, another a knife. They demanded his property and got away with a cell phone and some cash; the victim, fortunately, got away without physical injuries. The NYPD is asking for assistance identifying the suspects — or as the Daily News so eloquently dubs them, “the pint-sized punks” — who perpetrated the attack, all of whom are described as young teens between the heights of 4’6″ and 5’5″.
