If you’re in New York and not living under a rock, you’ve heard about (and heard) the street pianos. It all started yesterday, if you’ll recall. Sing for Hope is asking for people to sign up as “piano buddies” for the duration of the Play Me, I’m Yours project, which runs until July 5. You don’t even have to play the piano, but you should be a very capable piano babysitter.
Piano buddies are a crucial part of Play Me, I’m Yours and will have tasks including:
1. Unlocking and locking the keyboard of your piano each day from June 21st to July 5th
2. Covering your piano when it rains
3. Reporting daily activity
This is so your chance if you experienced rejection on the hall monitor circuit! And, they even promise that this will be fun, and also that you don’t have to be chained to your piano 24 hours a day. It might, indeed, be fun, and certainly interesting, and perhaps tan-inducing. If only we weren’t chained to our computers 24 hours a day.
In that case, you can donate, too.
